Moving a Treadmill Outdoors
Soon after his fall, Todd decided that he couldn’t handle the dull and repetitive routine of running indoors anymore. He decided to purchase a Toyota forklift along with a portable generator and hauled his treadmill to Central Park in NYC. He hasn’t looked back since!
He mentions that with his forklift, he can plow through various road barricades and even shrubbery. He places his treadmill anywhere he would like.
In the past, he has jogged 5Ks in Sheep Meadow and ran for 10 miles in a wheelchair-accessible turret at Belvedere Castle.
Todd has even run a marathon at the Delacorte Theater during a performance of Shakespeare’s Othello. For this specific run, he programmed everything around all five acts. Todd built up to a burst of speed during the climax, which is when Othello smothers Desdemona with a pillow. During his 20-minute cool-down session, he blubbered like a baby.
According to Todd, his favorite place to run on his treadmill is the zoo, next to the seal pool.
A Different and More Enjoyable Exercise

Todd is shocked that no other people haul their treadmills to more enticing locations. As he runs outdoors, he feels as if he could run forever.
He enjoys running in the day time and at night. When it’s dark outside, he sticks to well-lit areas filled with people. Todd also mentions that he’s become very popular as many tourists take photos of him while he runs on his treadmill outdoors.
